What is Hospice?
Hospice offers specialized care for individuals diagnosed with a terminal illness, typically those who have a life expectancy of six months or less based on the usual progression of the disease. In addition to medical care, hospice provides a wide range of supportive services. This includes physical, psychological, spiritual, and emotional care for patients during the final stages of their illness, as well s support for family members and loved ones during their time of bereavement. Hospice care encompasses a continuum that ranges from occasional home visits to inpatient care, prioritizing the patient's comfort by keeping them in their own home, where they feel most at ease and least restricted.

Hospice patients 65 or over who are enrolled in Medicare will find that their hospice care is fully covered by the Medicare Hospice Benefit. Most Private insurance plans cover hospice care.
